The only cost to credit unions is their marketing expense.
Do we need CUcorp/GM permission to advertise this? We were thinking it'd be nice to advertise in the movie theater.
All materials must be approved by CUcorp and GM prior to use. Marketing materials provided through this website have already been approved.
Can we modify the creative that you send us (imprint our logo, etc), or do we have to print "as-is"?
Marketing materials have been designed to allow the credit unions to add their logo, web address and phone number.
Do members have to present a current statement for proof of membership, or will other documents work?
Credit union members can provide a current statement or a credit union membership card. Other forms of proof may be accepted at the discretion of the GM dealer.
How are the programs communicated to GM Dealers?
GM has communicated these programs through its internal channels.
Is the credit union notified when a member receives a discount authorization?
At this time, notification will not be provided to credit unions when the authorization is provided but, rather, when it is redeemed. GM and CUcorp will work with credit unions to provide this tracking information.
How does a credit union become eligible to participate in the program?
All credit unions are participants in the Purchasing Program. We encourage them to complete the sign up form so they can gain access to the password protected areas of the Partner Center, which includes free marketing materials and reports.
How much is the vehicle discount?
Credit union members will receive the Supplier Pricing Discount through this program, along with applicable national incentives.
Which GM dealers are participating in this program?
This program is available through all participating GM dealers in the U.S., and is voluntary on the part of the dealers. Please inform your dealer of your intention to use the Credit Union Member Discount From GM.
Does the discount apply to vehicles that are ordered as well as those currently on a dealer’s lot?
Yes. You can receive the discount when ordering your vehicle through a participating GM dealer.
Does the discount apply to business accounts?
Yes, but if the business purchases more than five cars per year, it will qualify for fleet pricing through GM.
Are all GM brands and models eligible for the discount program?
For the purchase program, most new 2011, 2012 and, as they become available, 2013 Chevrolet, Buick and GMC passenger cars, SUVs, crossovers and light-duty trucks are eligible. More information can be found after clicking the GM button on this site. Please click here for a complete list.

Can I combine the discount with current incentives?
Yes, in most cases. Visit your participating GM dealer for details on eligible incentives, or view current incentives at gm.com/creditunion to see how the values add up.
Can I combine this with any GM reward card earnings?
You can combine the discount with Earnings from the GM Extended Family Card or the GM Business Card. Earnings from the GM reward cards are in addition to most current incentives GM may offer. The credit union member discount is not stackable with the blue, gold, copper or platinum flex cards.
Do I have to finance through my credit union?
No. You can finance through any financial institution, however please be sure to check with your credit union since credit unions have among the best auto rates available.
Are dealer-installed options covered by this discount (e.g., theft-deterrent devices, etc.)?
No. Any additional dealer-installed options, conversion/uplift packages, General Motors Protection Plans and other extra-charge items will be supplied at a price agreed upon between the customer and the dealer.
Can I share my discount?
Yes, you may share the GM discount with other members of your household.
What information is required to register for a personal Authorization Number?
To register, you will be asked to provide: name, address, city, state, zip code. You will be asked to choose the state in which your credit union is located and then select your credit union.
Next, you will be asked to provide your e-mail address and create a unique user ID, password and secret question.
Then you can click to receive the personal Authorization Number that you can print or write down. You will also be asked to provide the zip code and date of birth of the individual purchasing the vehicle. The dealer will use this to verify your personal Authorization Number.
What if the dealer is not aware of the discount program?
GM has communicated these programs internally to all dealers. Dealers should refer to bulletins 12-11 for information concerning the Credit Union Member Discount from GM.
What if the credit union member does not have an email address, can they still get the credit union member discount?
Yes, if the member does not have an email address they can call 866.603.8340 to obtain an authorization code.
